Foursys has accrued considerable knowledge in performing migrations from other products to Sophos, Websense and Clearswift and has a set of tools and methodologies for doing this work. The largest Sophos Endpoint migration project that Foursys has performed was for 10,000 PC’s in a large council. This was to migrate from McAfee to Sophos.
Product upgrades to major versions can mean a lot of work, often involving a complete re-install. The management interfaces can change radically and new features are added. It is crucial to manage the upgrade process properly so that there is minimal downtime and the full impact of the new version is completely understood.
For a typical migration or upgrade project Foursys will provide initial consultancy, either a face to face meeting or conference call, to ascertain your full requirements and find out all relevant details about your technical environment.
Following this initial stage Foursys will create a project plan defining step-by-step timeframes, responsibilities and actions. This ensures everyone is clear about what needs to happen before and during the project, and what the migration or upgrade goal is.
At each stage of the physical project Foursys recommends having technical staff present so that knowledge transfer can take place. This normally helps with the ongoing management of the system.
Following completion of the project Foursys will provide a written report of the activities and any outstanding actions that need to take place.
