We realise it’s crucial for any commercial organisation to demonstrate cost savings and ROI moving forwards. With excellent vendor relationships (Sophos Partner of the Year 2010, Websense leading partner reseller 2010), Foursys is able to leverage the best licensing options for you.  Coupled with a comprehensive Professional Services portfolio, Foursys can provide best options to improve security from existing products, whilst ensuring best practice and a coherent strategy moving forwards.  Our aim is to make your organisation more secure, whilst providing the best value possible.

Encryption, Secure Remote Access, Data Leakage Protection

98% of data loss events are accidental.  How do you currently protect against losing sensitive data, for example a lost laptop or a dropped USB stick? Are you looking at options for encrypting certain PC’s to protect against data loss, or should you be looking at encrypting any sensitive data that leaves your network? Will standalone encryption work or do you need a centrally managed modular solution to manage encryption with keychain access across hard discs, removable media and your network shares?

Better still, are you investigating options for secure remote access, so that no data has to leave your network in the first place, with all applications and resources accessed securely?

A secondary issue moving on from the above, is how do you know where your sensitive data resides on your network and how it is currently being used, in order to put any measures in place to protect it?  This is a common problem facing commercial organisations today. Foursys can help you uncover patterns of data movement, from basic levels right down to viewing or printing documents. You can then take a call about what to do; whether to carry on simply monitoring data movement, or put policy in place to block, or allow by confirmation. Whilst logging everything.  In the first few months after deploying these measures you can expect to find many unregulated business processes (for a 1000 user organisation up to 50 unregulated processes per month). This happens because you now have visibility of who is doing what with sensitive data and how they are doing it.  To find the unregulated process you (or preferably their manager) now have to ask them why they are doing this.

One of the challenges in implementing DLP procedures like this is the perceived costs associated, and often there is no compelling data loss event to drive the project.  Foursys is seeing a move towards some sort of DLP on all networks, or at least on the horizon, and vendor costs are reacting accordingly as DLP becomes more mainstream.  Business managers are understanding the impact of data loss and putting in measures to combat this risk.

Foursys is working with commercial organisations to find Encryption, Secure Remote Access, and Data Leakage Protection solutions that fit into what are often unique situations.

Web traffic

It is a big challenge to provide solutions that reduce staff exposure to unwanted content and in particular to threats on the web.  Approximately 75% of threats currently come from the web. Very often it is pages on popular sites that become infected as the malware authors seek to gain the widest audience possible.

Facebook, Linkedin, and all the Web 2.0 social networking sites are a big challenge as they can contain almost anything – URL links, web pages from other sites, videos, applications, and of course malware.  And today most businesses have legitimate reasons for accessing social networking sites – for recruitment, sales & marketing, research, engagement – many companies have their own facebook and/or Linkedin presence for these reasons.  So increasingly now we need to use social networking, but how do we control it effectively and more importantly mitigate against threats it contains?

Many sites now use https (an encrypted web traffic stream) to bypass simple web filtering measures. Many web filtering solutions simply cannot see inside this type of traffic (as they are looking at the URL address only) and so these sites can provide open access to almost any content, including malware threats.

The best way to control these issues is to look right inside the web traffic itself so you can see any sites or threats that have been “hidden” by these methods.  Foursys is addressing this with some of the most advanced web security solutions on the planet.

Annual Health Check

As security products have become more complex over the past few years, it has become crucial to make sure they are configured and managed properly, reporting effectively and providing as much security as appropriate.  With resource always tight, but workloads still increasing, many organisations  are turning to Foursys take the headache out of this problem. During a healthcheck Foursys will optimise products with a written report containing further recommendations if necessary.  This helps with audits too, as an external specialist has reviewed your security systems to make sure all is well. From an ongoing support point of view, Foursys then has proper knowledge of your setup and network and this makes it much easier to resolve any future issues.

Mobile computing – iPhones, iPads, Android, Windows7 mobile

Improved control of mobile devices such as iphones, smartphones and ipads is a hot topic right now as these devices are increasingly used by a wide range of staff. We frequently hear of the demands on IT teams to integrate these devices securely into existing infrastructure. Foursys can discuss new ways of controlling these mobile devices – a web-based console can be used to centrally configure security settings, enabling lockdown of unwanted features, as well as for remote, over-the-air lock or wipe if device is lost or stolen, similar to Apple’s Find My iPhone feature. Additionally, the tool enables consistent security policy enforcement, strong password policy and lock period, control and installation of applications, blocking use of cameras, browsers, and sites like YouTube.

Vendor roadmaps and future products

Foursys has an excellent understanding and very clear view of the Sophos roadmap for the next 2 years and as such can talk you through product areas that are coming up, often included as part of an existing licence.  This helps you shape your strategy and budget accordingly, and usually reveals additional areas that can be used to improve overall security at little or no extra cost.
