Sophos now release a new version of their software every 6 months, around April/May and October/November so users can expect significant upgrades and improvements on a regular basis at no extra cost if they have the basic Endpoint licence.

• The October 2009 release of Endpoint 9 includes:
• Integrated data loss prevention in Endpoint at no extra cost.  Many data definitions including credit card numbers are included already and updated automatically by Sophos.
• Improved device control for removable devices like USBs so you can more tightly control what devices are used
• Client Firewall is now part of the Endpoint agent and managed through the main Sophos Management Console making it much easier to deploy
• More reports, including user based reports, and a new reporting wizard make it easier to schedule reports

This utility allows users of Sophos Endpoint to automatically start a full system virus scan of their systems on shutdown and report any infections back to the Console.  Scan and clean up options are completely configurable by the Administrator.  This means that users are not delayed by any virus scan of their systems when starting up.  The same utility can also be used to automate scans at other times such as logoff, start-up or logon if this is preferable.

This Foursys written utility is fully supported by the company and available free to all customers who have purchased Foursys Enhanced or System Support for Sophos Endpoint, the cost of which ranges from £100 to £500 a year depending on the size of your network.
